Braren Pauli

Braren Pauli premium wines are produced under partners, Larry Braren and Bill Pauli. Larry's interest in winemaking was sparked by his visits to Libya and France where he had the opportunity to learn hands-on the skills of winemaking. Bill's interest in growing wine grapes was kindled from his father and grandfather who farmed land in Potter Valley, California. Label Together, Larry and Bill formed a partnership in 1980 and have established Braren Pauli as a premium wine producer of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Semillon, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Today, Larry focuses on winemaking, sales and marketing and Bill produces and manages the premium grapes grown for Braren Pauli on his vineyards in Mendocino County. The grapes for Braren Pauli wines are grown from rich deep soils on Bill's Hawn Creek vineyards and Busch Creek vineyards in Potter Valley and on benchland vineyards in Redwood Valley.

Larry Braren and Bill Pauli welcome you to join them at Redwood Valley Cellars to taste their extensive line of premium wines. Current Releases

1998 Chardonnay, Busch Creek Vineyard

The grapes, which were used to produce this wine, were grown in Potter Valley, one of the cooler regions in Mendocino County. The long growing season results in Chardonnay that is high in apple and pear flavors while retaining a strong acidity that gives the finished wine structure, balance and a hint of citrus in the finish. This wine is excellent with crab cakes, fish or before dinner with cheese and fruit.
Cases produced: 860 (750 ml)

1998 Pinot Noir, Roar Vineyard

The grapes, which were used to produce this wine, were grown in Potter Valley, one of the cooler regions in Mendocino County. An ideal area for Pinot Noir, the Paulis have planted over a half dozen clones of this delightful variety in their vineyards. The grapes produced a wine with rich, ripe Pinot flavors, a full, round middle mouth and a long, fruit driven finish that is married well with the sweet vanilla flavors of French Oak. This wine goes well with almost any meal and is an ideal wine by itself or with light appetizers.
Cases produced: 840 (750 ml)

1997 Merlot

The grapes, which were used to produce this wine, came from our bench land vineyard in Redwood Valley. The soils are reddish clay, which produce grapes with forward fruit aromas and flavors of blueberry, plum and black cherry. A balanced wine, this Merlot goes with a wide range of meat dishes, but our favorite is with salmon.
Cases produced: 1,200 (750 ml)

1996 Zinfandel

The grapes, which were used to produce this wine, came from "old" head pruned vines in Redwood Valley. The soils are reddish clay, which produce grapes with forward fruit aromas and flavors of wild berry, plum and black cherry. We recommend this wine be served with red sauce and oil based pasta dishes, beef, ham and most barbeque/grilled foods.
Cases produced: 2,300 (750 ml)
