17th Annual
Father's Day
Weekend in Redwood Valley

June 14th & 15th, 2008

It's a pleasantly warm Father's Day weekend in Redwood Valley. Tents are set up by the ponds on the vineyard properties, tasting rooms are flying their brightly-colored flags, and the smell of ethnic foods fills the air.

Give Dad the special gift of going with him to the country to taste the wines from the small producers in this unique area.

"The school roster at the Redwood Valley Elementary School read as if you were in Italy," says patriarch of Redwood Valley, grape grower Charlie Barra. With names like Barra, Graziano, Giuseppe, one can understand why the flavors of garlic and Italian spices come wafting from the foods being prepared for winery guests at "A Taste of Redwood Valley.

"Employees at Fife Vineyards cook up some exquisite Mexican flavors while Cole Bailey, Frey Vineyards, Elizabeth Vineyards and Silversmith follow the trendy cuisine of the day. Then there is the Greek family who own Lolonis Winery, who will be serving souvlaki and spanakopita.

Oracle Oaks Winery is the newest winery in Redwood Valley.  It is owned by a young family that also recognizes the public's appreciation of the contrast of American and Greek culture, serving both Hot Dogs and Dolmades.

We would like to welcome the newest member of the Taste Of Redwood Valley group, Oster Wine Cellars. Oster Wine Cellars is owned and operated by Ken Oster and Teresa Fetzer Oster. We are glad they joined us for the fun filled Father's Day weekend.

A Taste of Redwood Valley" is truly all about good food, excellent award-winning wines and of course, celebrating Father's Day.
